Creating Life-long Learners
Early Learning
Preschool (3 year olds) and Pre-K (4 year olds)
Is your child ready to begin school? Our Preschool and Pre-K programs are designed to assist with socialization skills, celebrate the first successes, introduce students to school-based learning, and create a strong foundation for their faith journey. If you are interested in a faith-based, quality, private education, we invite you to come in and explore Bishop Leibold.
Bishop Leibold offers an Early Learning Program for three and four-year-old children to best meet the educational and social needs of our families. Our Preschool and PreK programs serve as the beginning of a long relationship with each student and their family. These state-licensed programs are held at the West Campus in Miamisburg and run from late August to May in conjunction with the BLS calendar.

-
For the Preschool Program, children must be three years old and completely potty trained to participate
-
For the Pre-Kindergarten Program (Pre-K), children must be four years old

Both programs align with the Ohio Department of Education's Early Learning Content Standards and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Please note that Early Learning Program students must be potty-trained; we do not have the facility provisions for diaper changing.
Our Early Learning Program enrollment is limited, in compliance with the Ohio Department of Education standards. Registration opens on January 29, and sessions are filled first come, first serve.

Available Schedules
We offer families in both Preschool (3 year olds) and Pre- K (4 year olds) a five days a week, full day schedule from 8:10 AM-3:00 PM or half day schedule from 8:10 AM-11:00 AM. We also offer partial week options (M/W/F or T/TH) for full day or half day.
Our Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten programs are inspired by the internally acclaimed Reggio Emilia model (Italy), which features nature, art, and experimental learning. You will find students working on centers such as dramatic and sensory play, art, music, library and writing. Students participate in large and small group activities, outdoor play, Bible stories, and daily prayer.
In line with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we believe that:
-
Children can construct their learning. Early learning education should be child-led with the adult as their guide leading them towards a path of learning and creativity.
-
Children learn their place in the world through interactions with others.
-
A child’s environment is also their teacher. Providing a creative, nurturing environment for a child to play and learn will only increase the amount of the knowledge they take in.
-
Children are inspired to make their ideas visible in many ways and we strive to document their thought progressions as they learn.
-
Children utilize many different ways to communicate their thoughts and feelings and to express themselves. We focus on helping children communicate through music, art, nature, and play.
