EdChoice and EdChoice Expansion Scholarships​

ALL families in Ohio now qualify for the EdChoice Scholarship! It is estimated that 82% of all families in Ohio will qualify for the full scholarship and the remainder will all qualify for a partial scholarship!

 

Scholarship amounts are income-based for students in K-12. Students whose family’s adjusted gross income (line 11 on your federal tax form) is at or below 450% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), or about $135,000 for a family of four, will be eligible to receive the full scholarship amount, and students whose family’s household income is above 450% FPL are eligible for a partial scholarship on a sliding scale.

Applications for EdChoice do not open until later in the spring after your student is accepted to Bishop Leibold.

Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship

Bishop Leibold is an official provider of The Jon Peterson Special Needs (JPSN) Scholarship. This program provides scholarships to students in grades K-12 who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). If you think your student might be eligible, please contact the school office.

The Catholic Education Foundation for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati (CEF) 

​The Catholic Education Foundation for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati (CEF) is once again offering tuition assistance grants for the 2025-2026 school year. Grants are available for Preschool through 8th grade students. Most, if not all of the BLS families who applied received a grant last year.  FACTS Grant and Aid applications must be submitted to be eligible for this award. Families up to 750% of the Federal Poverty Level, or about $234,000 for a family of 4, are encouraged to apply.

How to apply:

1. Login to your FACTS account or visit www.CatholicBestChoice.org/affordability.

2. Complete a FACTS Grant and Aid application by inputting financial information (such as sources of income, assets, and household expenses) including your prior year (2023) tax return and W2s. 

3. The CEF deadline to have all 2023 tax return information entered into FACTS Grant and Aid for eligibility is February 16, 2025.

Bishop Leibold Eagle Fund

Families with students in K-8, who are parishioners in the St. John Paul II Family of Parishes or who have more than one sibling enrolled at BLS, are eligible for the Eagle Fund Scholarship to further offset the cost of tuition after your EdChoice scholarship is applied. The school will determine the amount once you have received your EdChoice award.

Bishop Leibold Financial Aid

Thanks to the success of the SGO, state tax credit program, addtitional tuition assistance is available to further offset the cost of tuition beyond the EdChoice Scholarship. This program addresses the economic needs of Bishop Leibold families.  The number of eligible applicants and the amount of assistance available will be a factor in determining the distribution of the aid. Families requesting tuition assistance should apply online via FACTS by February 16, 2025.

How to apply:

1. Login to your FACTS account and hit the green start application button under the grants and aid header on the top, right corner of your home screen. 

2. When applying via FACTS, please have your most recent year tax information available, as you will be asked to provide this information. Families should be registered for next school year prior to submitting financial assistance applications. If you apply for the CEF Tuition Assistance above via FACTS, that application comes to us and you do not have to re-apply for this.

Additional Scholarship Opportunities

A number of private annual scholarships for students entering grades 5-8 are also available. Information will be sent home to those families directly.
